In my community there are a number of events held to help better the environment where community members gather to come up with ideas and solve problems. As a member in the society I attend monthly meetings where I help in discussing future implications. In these meetings we take about issues affecting the community and how we as the community can improve.
Keeping the community clean by picking up litter
Nowadays, our communities are full of litter as papers and plastics laying around and most people are not even bothered by this issue. It is my responsibility to pick up papers and raise awareness about the issue as it causes pollution. As a member in the community I pick up litter to keep it keep and safe because some of the litter laying around is dangerous to little children due to the litter containing unknown substances.
Donation
In the community there are a number of children who are without clothes and as I citizen I feel the need to donate some of my clothes to care centers. Every year I look for clothes at my house that no one wears and clothes that are in a good condition.
Volunteering in community events
There are often a number of events held and there are not enough people to help in organizing the event. I help the organizers by collecting and ordering things when they are busy. I also sort out their files and pay bills. I also volunteer in community outreach programmes, where we help children in day care centers.
